RJRPRES: excellent new spanish bimonthly from the publishers of rock de lux. covers mostly international indie/alternative rock plus some national acts. comes with a free cd.

factsheet five (usa/english)
RJRPRES: traditionally the bible of the fanzine scene. reviews not only music fanzines, but also fanzines on about every other topic. very valuable for general info on new publications, addresses etc.

fader (the) (usa/english)
RJRPRES: glossy u.s. bimonthly covering the popular music scene from rap to alternative rock etc. heavy focus on new artists/groups. always something of interest. recommended.

faith magazine (ireland/english)
RJRPRES: excellent irish alternative rock paper. free locally. worth investigating.

familien (norway/norwegian)
RJRPRES: norwegian family magazine. basically not relevant for the rojaro.

fan (norway/norwegian)
RJRPRES: norwegian zine published by the organization behind øyafestivalen in oslo. lots of interesting articles covering both national & international artists from indie rock to free jazz, disco to extreme metal etc. free & recommended.

fantastic expedition (uk/english)
RJRPRES: new british zine covering west coast music scene from the late 60s and early 70s from country rock & folk rock to singer-songwriter & psych. long thorough articles. very promising. my own pagination used. probably discontinued

fantastic voyage system (usa/english)
RJRPRES: american monthly covering rock, reggae, jazz, bluegrass, funk, blues etc. lots of fairly unknown artists and their releases are covered. a valuable new source of information.

fast folk musical magazine (usa/english)
RJRPRES: american 20 page folk mag that now comes with a cd of new exclusive songs.

fat cap (norway/english)
RJRPRES: rap fanzine covering both the national & international scene. formerly some reviews in norwegian, now all in english. also grafitti in full colour. folded after issue 12.

fazemag (germany/german)
RJRPRES: german monthly covering dance music & electronica, but also touching on pop, rock & indie (+ some games, film & equipment). quite interesting, so it-s worth your attention.

fear and loathing (uk/english)
RJRPRES: mostly hardcore. sometimes with vinyl 7-inch eps. recommended.

feminist baseball (usa/english)
RJRPRES: impressive fanzine covering various shades of rock, some jazz etc (+ cinema & literature). some very long interviews plus an extensive record review section make this easy to recommend.

fi (usa/english)
RJRPRES: glossy american monthly subtitled "the magazine of music & sound". some interesting interviews & well-written record reviews of both jazz, classical & rock/pop records (+ hifi equipment).

fifth path (usa/english)
RJRPRES: american fanzine that covered music & other cultural phenomenons on the dark side. music coverage is quite interesting, but i have a big problem with the underlying philosophy.

file 13 (usa/english)
RJRPRES: american zine that covers various shades of alternative music through interesting interviews & lots of record reviews. nice info source on cassette releases and japanese noise. partly continued as You could do worse.

filter (usa/english)
RJRPRES: u.s. quarterly covering mostly upcoming artists from a wide range of contemporary popular musics from rock & metal to rap & electronica. always interesting to read. print edition discontinued.

fire (italy/english)
RJRPRES: bimonthly/quarterly magazine in english issued by the italian edition of rock hard covering rock & metal. subtitled: heavy psych, doom, stoner, sludge, occult, dark & 70s hard rock. current status unknown.

RJRPRES: covers folk-rock & other music they think matters.

RJRPRES: new british metal magazine from the same publishers as vive le rock, down for life etc. covers various shades of metal music.

fizz (usa/english)
RJRPRES: lots of female input in this fanzine make it very enjoyable to read. covers mostly indie rock through long interesting interviews. also columns/articles on musicians- artistic activities, art etc. name variations: fiz/fizz.

*flashback (uk/english)
RJRPRES: wonderful new magazine subtitled: psych, prog, jazz, folk, blues & beyond. comes across as a british version of ugly things regarding quality and research. extensive articles & reviews make this one a must for all serious music lovers.

flipside (usa/english)
RJRPRES: american fanzine covering various forms of underground music & culture. interviews with lots of interesting new acts + scene reports & live/record reviews. long-running bimonthly. another important & recommended publication.

flomotions (uk/english)
RJRPRES: new colourful annual zine covering the current underground rock & popular music scene. excellent interviews. absolutely worth you attention. probably a one-off.

fmq/ finnish music quarterly (finland/english)
RJRPRES: official information publication covering the music scene in finland from contemporary and classical music to rock, pop, folk & jazz. a valuable source of information.

foggy notions (ireland/english)
RJRPRES: excellent new irish zine focusing mainly on artists linked to the current indie scene. each issue comes with a cd. counting downwards from #100. check it out.

folk roots/ froots (uk/english)
RJRPRES: this british world music mag is simply one of the best music publications i know. it-s open to artists & trends worldwide and deals with them through knowledgeable articles, interviews & reviews. really a must, but sadly discontinued.

folk-michel (germany/german)
RJRPRES: german bimonthly magazine covering mostly european traditional/folk music, + some world music. valuable info source on german and other european artists & festival scene. book, record & cassette reviews. partly continued as folker.

folkemusikk (norway/norwegian)
RJRPRES: long-running norwegian magazine covering traditional folk music & dance. now with a new name and a modernized scope also covering some world music & fusion trends. interesting articles & reviews. recommended.

folker (germany/german)
RJRPRES: german bimonthly covering traditional music, folk & world music. a vital source of information especially on the german folk scene. took over from the magazine, folk-michel.

forced exposure (usa/english)
RJRPRES: very important long-running alternative rock (+literature/film/etc) fanzine with steve albini, eugene chadbourne & chris d among the contributors. long interviews, articles & tons of reviews all done extremely well.

fourth door review (uk/english)
RJRPRES: very interesting general art magazine that covers some music too. well worth your time & attention, but quite expensive.

*fozzie fanzine (sweden/swedish)
RJRPRES: interesting swedish zine starting up in the 1990s, and is now in its third cycle. consists of interviews with swedish pop & rock artists. well worth checking out.

freakbeat (uk/english)
RJRPRES: british psychedelic music fanzine printed in double colour which makes special two-colour glasses necessary. lots of interesting interviews, + hundreds of record reviews in special section. recommended.

freakout usa (usa/english)
RJRPRES: impressive new american fanzine covering mostly 60s rock. highly recommended.

freakshow (canada/english)
RJRPRES: small xeroxed fanzine covering mostly alternative rock through interviews & record reviews.

free colours (poland/polish)
RJRPRES: impressive polish reggae magazine. check it out if you have the chance and read the language. current status uncertain.

french guitar (france/french)
RJRPRES: new promising french guitar mag covering mostly the national rock, jazz etc guitar scene. worth checking out. current status unknown.

friction (canada/english)
RJRPRES: canadian alternative culture fanzine covering not only music but art, comix, fiction etc. music content mostly on underground rock. worth seeking out.

frontpage (germany/german)
RJRPRES: german monthly covering various forms of dance music like techno, jungle, house etc and other aspects of the dance culture.

funk u (france/french)
RJRPRES: impressive french zine covering black music from funk and soul to pop and blues. always interesting and easy to recommend.

fuz (usa/english)
RJRPRES: excellent zine with in depth coverage of 60s & 70s rock artists/groups. check it out.

fuzz (sweden/swedish)
RJRPRES: swedish guitar publication covering mostly rock guitar styles (+ some blues/jazz/funk etc). interesting articles/interviews, equipment tests, workshops & record reviews.

får jag lov (sweden/swedish)
RJRPRES: swedish bimonthly covering the local popular dance music & the scene around it. quite alone within its field.
