RJRPRES: american tabloid for mandolin players with instructional articles + various reviews of books & records. indispensable to people interested in the mandolin, but also of interest to the general public. discontinued.

margen (spain/spanish)
RJRPRES: spanish magazine focusing on electronic, progressive rock and experimental music. quite interesting for coverage of obscure artists through both interviews & record reviews. comes with free(?) cds. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: new spanish jazz bimonthly. current status unknown. possibly discontinued.

matte (usa/english)
RJRPRES: promising magazine subtitled; creative independence in art, film and music. music content focus mainly on various shades or indie rock. worth your attention. discontinued.

RJRPRES: excellent british monthly subtitled: the new voice of country music. covers both traditional & alt.country, and touches on americana, folk, blues, rock etc. highly recommended. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: long-running monthly bible of punk & hardcore. combines music articles/interviews with political stuff. lots of scene reports, columns & short record reviews. important information source, and strongly recommended. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: glossy u.s. cultural bimonthly covering a wide variety of popular musics from rock & metal to rap & dance (plus cinema, literature etc.). always full of interesting articles. discontinued.

mediators (france/french)
RJRPRES: promising french alternative rock monthly which was discontinued after 4 issues.

melody maker (uk/english)
RJRPRES: long-running british music weekly. covers the contemporary popular music scene in general with a leaning towards new indie-rock. large live reviews section. an important source of information. now discontinued.

merlin-s music box (greece/greek)
RJRPRES: excellent greek alternative rock fanzine. articles/interviews on both greek & international acts + a substantial reviews section. well worth seeking out if you understand the language. discontinued.

RJRPRES: well-known metal monthly with lots of national editions around europe. glossy with lots of full colour pictures covering a wide variety of metal music and hard rock through the usual articles + reviews. not bad at all. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: new norwegian music magazine covering a wide variety of popular musics from rock to rap (+ some jazz). mainly record reviews + some short interviews/articles. folded after 2 issues.

minotaurus (usa/english)
RJRPRES: interesting new american fanzine covering mostly rock on the experimental dark side. recommended. probably discontinued.

mississippi rag (usa/english)
RJRPRES: monthly american trad-jazz paper with excellent articles/interviews and general quality coverage of this part of the jazz scene + ragtime. thorough live/record reviews. web-only from 2007. pagination from private print-outs 2008. discontinued.

RJRPRES: one of a kind blues harmonica magazine, sadly discontinued.

*misty lane (italy/english)
RJRPRES: irregular italian zine mainly garage rock from the 1960s onward (+ some b-movies). interesting choice of (mostly obscure) artists covered make this one a must for the inquisitive fans. highly recommended. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: glossy american monthly for both rock & jazz drummers with the usual amount of interesting interviews, instructional columns, equipment presentations and reviews. most interviews of interest to the general public. recommended. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: small fanzine covering various forms of rock, psychedelia, noise & avant-garde through small philosophical essays, letters, interviews & some quite interesting record reviews. always worth your attention. issues #1-6 titled: rock mag. dicontinued.

RJRPRES: british monthly with the focus on rock/popular music from the 60s & early 70s with extensive articles & record reviews. also covers some new artists. lots of reviews. one of the best within its field and recommended. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: norwegian edition of glossy scandinavian bimonthly covering a variety of rock types from prog to black metal etc. steadily growing and worth checking out. previously some articles written in swedish. continues as: norway rock magazine.

RJRPRES: new zine covering mostly japanese noise, rock & experimental music. some articles also in japanese. absolutely worth your attention. probably discontinued.

RJRPRES: beautiful limited edition zine published by the illustrator iker spozio. covers popular music from the 60s & 70s through extensive interviews. absolutely recommended. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: this danish alternative rock fanzine is written in english. good coverage of scandinavian acts along with more well-known british & american names. lots of short record reviews. worth checking out. discontinued.

RJRPRES: always interesting american fanzine with excellent articles on acts from mc5 to firesign theatre and blowfly. comix & non-musical articles. recommended reading. irregular. discontinued.

RJRPRES: small new mag from new york covering a wide variety of musics from blues & garage rock to singer/songwriters & dance music (+ comics etc). promising start & well worth inclusion in the rojaro. probably discontinued.

RJRPRES: impressive long-running italian rock (& cinema/literature) weekly. mostly mainstream but not exclusively. now back to monthly. absolutely worth your attention, but expensive for foreigners. rotten subscription service. (nov.09)

RJRPRES: important italian monthly jazz magazine that comes with a cd. well-researched articles, interviews & reviews on both italian and intern.jazz + a large mid section related to the music on the cd. highly recommended. current status uncertain.

RJRPRES: incredibly varied free italian monthly with articles/reviews on everything from avant garde to deathnoise (plus cinema comix etc). worth tracking down. probably discontinued.

RJRPRES: a very thorough magazine covering news, live- & record reviews and interviews within the avant garde field (mostly). now published irregularly. excellent and a personal favourite. discontinued.
