RJRPRES: new quarterly publiched by jack white-s third man records covering various shades of music, art and literature. off to a very promising start, so check it out. now probably discontinued after three issues.

RJRPRES: french monthly (formerly bimonthly) covering mostly international indie pop and rock. high standard both on articles and reviews makes this a worthy continuation of the excellent magic mushroom. recommended.

RJRPRES: this french indie-rock fanzine now continues as magic. mostly interviews with british & american acts + demo/record reviews. by now easy to recommend.

magnet (usa/english)
RJRPRES: rock magazine subtitled: real music alternatives. lots of interesting articles & reviews. this has now gone from monthly to bi-monthly. one of the best within its field. resurrected as a monthly.

making waves (usa/english)
RJRPRES: new zine focusing on presenting the history of female punk, indie, riot grrrl rock, post punk etc. lots of excellent interviews & interesting articles covering both known & fairly unknown acts. current status unknown.

mandocrusian-s digest (the) (usa/english)
RJRPRES: american tabloid for mandolin players with instructional articles + various reviews of books & records. indispensable to people interested in the mandolin, but also of interest to the general public.

margen (spain/spanish)
RJRPRES: spanish magazine focusing on electronic, progressive rock and experimental music. quite interesting for coverage of obscure artists through both interviews & record reviews. some came with free cds.

marvin (mexico/spanish)
RJRPRES: mexican monthly covering rock, indie, pop & electronica etc (+ some cinema & art). well worth your attention. some back-issues available to read on the website.

màs jazz (spain/spanish)
RJRPRES: new spanish jazz bimonthly. current status unknown.

mass appeal (usa/english)
RJRPRES: this one began as a graffiti zine, but has become a great magazine covering various aspects of hiphop culture such as rap, art, style etc. well worth checking out.

matte (usa/english)
RJRPRES: promising magazine subtitled; creative independence in art, film and music. music content focus mainly on various shades or indie rock. worth your attention.

maverick (uk/english)
RJRPRES: excellent british monthly subtitled: the new voice of country music. covers both traditional & alt.country, and touches on americana, folk, blues, rock etc. digital only issues 103-111. now back to printed bimonthly ed. trouble with subscription!

maximum rocknroll (usa/english)
RJRPRES: long-running monthly bible of punk & hardcore. combines music articles/interviews with political stuff. lots of scene reports, columns & short record reviews. important information source, and strongly recommended.

RJRPRES: french quarterly covering music & digital culture. music content mostly within the electronica, dance & experimental scene. recommended.

RJRPRES: excellent greek alternative rock fanzine. articles/interviews on both greek & international acts + a substantial reviews section. well worth seeking out if you understand the language.

RJRPRES: well-known metal monthly with lots of national editions around europe. glossy with lots of full colour pictures covering a wide variety of metal music and hard rock through the usual articles + reviews. not bad at all.

metal hammer & heavy metal (greece/greek)
RJRPRES: greek edition of the well-known metal & hard rock monthly. general high quality combined with lots of locally produced content make this easy to recommend if you read greek.

metal hammer (germany) (germany/german)
RJRPRES: impressive long-running german edition of this metal & hard rock publication. a totally different magazine from its british namesake with excellent coverage of both the german & international scene. highly recommended.

metal hammer (poland) (poland/polish)
RJRPRES: polish edition of this metal & hard rock monthly. important due to lots of local content. if you read polish, this is one to check out. current status unknown.

metal hammer (spain) (spain/spanish)
RJRPRES: spanish edition of this metal & hard rock monthly. a fair amount of local content make this a valuable source of information on the spanish metal scene. recommended.

metal hammer norway (norway/norwegian)
RJRPRES: norwegian edition of the international magazine with plenty of coverage of the national metal scene + other selfproduced articles & reviews. a valuable information source. back as bimonthly after a short break.

misty lane (italy/english)
RJRPRES: irregular italian zine mainly garage rock from the 1960s onward (+ some b-movies). interesting choice of (mostly obscure) artists covered make this one a must for the inquisitive fans. highly recommended.

mixmag (uk/english)
RJRPRES: british monthly covering all shades of dance music (techno, house, ambient, jungle, rap, triphop, etc), djs & club culture.

modern drummer (usa/english)
RJRPRES: glossy american monthly for both rock & jazz drummers with the usual amount of interesting interviews, instructional columns, equipment presentations and reviews. most interviews of interest to the general public. recommended.

modern rock magazine /rock mag (usa/english)
RJRPRES: small fanzine covering various forms of rock, psychedelia, noise & avant-garde through small philosophical essays, letters, interviews & some quite interesting record reviews. always worth your attention. issues #1-6 titled: rock mag.

RJRPRES: british monthly with the focus on rock/popular music from the 60s & early 70s with extensive articles & record reviews. also covers some new artists. lots of reviews. one of the best within its field and recommended.

RJRPRES: interesting (but shortlived) spinoff from the british monthly, mojo. covering various shades of popular music & rock in the 1960s. first issue came with a vinyl single. recommended.

moldejazz romsdals budstikke (norway/norwegian)
RJRPRES: paper issued in realtion to the molde jazz festival. only one issue indexed so far.

RJRPRES: american fanzine billed as The magazine by for and about the nihil generation. covers underground rock (+ comix, fiction etc).

RJRPRES: u.s.zine covering mostly alternative/indie type rock along with stories, comics etc. recommended.

RJRPRES: glossy american cyber magazine also covering related musics. worth checking out.

RJRPRES: short-lived extended version of the free mondomix musiques magazine. this one included articles on world cultures etc plus the music edition. lots of music issues can be found as pdfs on the website. discontinued.

monster (norway) (norway/norwegian)
RJRPRES: norwegian edition of glossy scandinavian bimonthly covering a variety of rock types from prog to black metal etc. previously some articles written in swedish. issue 9 was never published in norway. continues as: norway rock magazine.

RJRPRES: new zine covering mostly japanese noise, rock & experimental music. some articles also in japanese. absolutely worth your attention.

morning (france/english)
RJRPRES: beautiful limited edition zine published by the illustrator iker spozio. covers popular music from the 60s & 70s through extensive interviews. absolutely recommended.

moshable (denmark/english)
RJRPRES: this danish alternative rock fanzine is written in english. good coverage of scandinavian acts along with more well-known british & american names. lots of short record reviews. worth checking out.

RJRPRES: always interesting american fanzine with excellent articles on acts from mc5 to firesign theatre and blowfly. comix & non-musical articles. recommended reading. irregular.

RJRPRES: swedish music magazine covering classical music, folk music, world music & jazz. published in co-operation with sveriges radio p2 & sveriges rikskonserter. important coverage of the contemporary swedish music scene.

musiker magasinet (sweden/swedish)
RJRPRES: swedish mag for musicians covering both the musical & technical side. mostly rock, but touches on other types of music. recommended for features on musicians/groups. current status unknown.
